Types of trolleys – Hydraulic trolleys

Manual hydraulic trolleys are the most popular type of warehouse equipment in Russia, because they are affordable, economical, and as easy to operate as possible. For the transportation of goods weighing up to 1-5 tons, only the physical strength of a person is required. Fuel and electricity costs are completely absent. Due to these advantages, rohli are used in almost all industries where it is necessary to move and store goods on pallets.

There are 6 main types of manual hydraulic trolleys on the warehouse equipment market:

Standard. The chassis is a fork block, and a hydraulic pump with a handle and a piston is used as a lifting mechanism. Standard rollers lift loads to a height of up to 200 mm, and the height of the lowered forks is 80-85 mm. However, there are low-profile models whose forks drop to 35 mm.

For aggressive environments. These pellets are used in cold storage facilities, food and chemical industries. They are made of materials resistant to acidic, salty, humid environments. The chassis is made of stainless or galvanized steel, and the wheels and rollers are made of polyamide (nylon).

With a weight indicator

They allow not only to move and transport cargo, but also to weigh it. For example, if you need to check the weight of the shipped or received goods. They have the functions of taring, summing, and printing receipts.

For coils, rolls. These trucks are equipped with a special fork grip for transporting wide cylindrical loads. They are used in enterprises producing flexible materials, such as fabrics, paper, foil.

For off-road driving. Such fork trolleys are used on uneven and unpaved surfaces. They have high ground clearance and large, wide wheels.

With scissor lift. Thanks to the X-shaped lever mechanism, they lift the load to a height of up to 0.8 m. They are convenient if you often have to reload goods manually or feed them to a shipping belt. They can be equipped with a lifting engine.

Selection criteria

You need to know the maximum weight of the cargo that you will handle. The carrying capacity of a hand-held bucket can reach 1000-5000 kg, but for the most popular models it is 2000-2500 kg.

Fork size

Here you need to start from the standard of pallets that will have to be moved. To work with Euro pallets (1200×800), trolleys with fork lengths from 800 to 3000 mm are used, while the standard value is 1150 mm. The width of the fork block in this case is 520-550 mm.

For the transportation of non-standard pallets, models with a fork block with a width from 450 to 1070 mm are produced. For example, narrow pallets are often found in the printing and publishing industry.

Place of operation, floors

High humidity, low temperatures, frequent washing, contact with chemically aggressive substances – all these are reasons to buy stainless steel or electroplated junk. If there is little room for maneuvers in the room, then it is necessary to take into account such characteristics as dimensions, turning radius.

The type and condition of the floor covering affect the choice of the type of wheels and load rollers:

Polyurethane wheels are suitable for all types of floors, are cheap, have a low noise level when driving, good wear resistance. They are softer than nylon and have good cushioning properties. The base is made of metal, subject to corrosion.
Nylon wheels have low rolling resistance, facilitate steering. They are used for transporting heavy loads. They are resistant to wear, metal shavings, aggressive environments. High noise level, requires a flat floor. They are more suitable for work in open areas, the street, food and chemical industry enterprises. They are not subject to corrosion.

Tires made of solid rubber are almost silent and do not damage the floor covering. They provide the best grip on the floor surface and excellent maneuverability. The base is made of aluminum, not subject to corrosion. Auxiliary wheels cannot be made of rubber, because of the softness of the material.
Single load rollers (single) are suitable if the floors in the warehouse are smooth and it is necessary to process single-sided pallets open from below. Double (tandem) rollers move better on uneven floors, they are recommended for working with pallets that have a base around the perimeter.
