Wheel Materials

The wheel consists of two parts: the central part (hub or rim), inside which 2 ball bearings are installed, and the second part – the contact layer. The exception is made up of nylon wheels, they are made solid with bearings

Polyurethane roller (wheel) is a good solution for flat floors. It can be used both inside and outside the room. because it has good wear resistance. A more versatile and frequent option. The disadvantage is that it is noisier than rubber.

The rubber steering wheel is the most practical for uneven floors. Advantage: soft and silent, because the rubber contact layer compensates for surface irregularities, it will “survive” the flaws of the floor better, but has greater rolling resistance than polyurethane and nylon rollers.

NYLON WITHOUT BRACKET

Nylon roller (wheel) – is immune to the effects of most aggressive chemicals: weak acids and alkalis, alcohols, organic solvents, ammonia, salts, mineral and vegetable oils, petroleum products, etc. Noisy as polyurethane, but less wear-resistant.

Size. The standard diameter of the steering wheels is 180 or 200 mm. Usually 180 mm is placed on a two-ton trolley, and 200 mm on a 2.5-ton one. Wheels with a diameter of 180 mm can withstand a load of up to 350 kg, and with a diameter of 200 mm up to 400 kg. The rollers on the forks of the trolleys have a similar design and materials, only the sizes differ. Basically the diameter is 80mm, the width is 70 or 60 mm.

Load capacity, standard sizes, purpose of trolleys

Now manufacturers offer a huge selection from 500 kg to 3000 kg, and some modifications are up to 5 tons. Currently, the range of models produced is quite wide, and it is easy to pick up a trolley for any task, both in terms of load capacity and standard size, and for its intended purpose.

The most common pallets in Russia are the European standard EUR, the so-called “Euro pallet”, which has dimensions of 800x1200x144 mm. The weight of the cargo carried on it usually reaches 2-2.5 tons. Accordingly, trolleys are used for 2 and 2.5 tons with a fork length of 1150 mm and a width of 550 mm. These are generally accepted standard sizes.

There are also non-standard sizes of trolleys for specific tasks:

  • Trolley with short forks (fork length 800 mm). It is convenient to use in a limited space. For example, in the back of a truck.
  • Trolleys with extended forks (length 1350 / 1500 / 1800 / 2000 mm). They are able to significantly reduce the time spent on transportation, since two pallets can be placed on them at once. Very convenient for long loads.
  • Carts with scales. A dummy with a scale “knows” not only how to transport goods, but also how to weigh them. Such devices are optimal for warehouses where the goods are typed by weight.
  • Low-profile trolleys. Many pallets, for example, American and Chinese, are too low compared to European ones. In this situation, low-profile rohli are suitable. There are usually 2 standards in pitchfork height: 35 mm and 51 mm, with a load capacity of 1 ton and 1.5 tons, respectively.
  • Carts with wide forks. For wide pallets and non-standard loads.
  • Stainless-coated trolleys (galvanized). For conditions with various aggressive environments, galvanized rohli have been specially created. These hydraulic trolleys are capable of constantly working in conditions of low and high temperatures, high humidity, with constant contact with various chemicals.
